In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA), the National Board will provide reasonable test accommodations for all qualified candidates.
  • Candidates can find accommodation information related to specific National Board exams by clicking on the links below:

  • Candidates request test accommodations by completing the Request for Test Accommodation form and submitting it to the NBEO® by email, fax, or U.S. mail. Submission of this request form must preface the delivery of current, written, qualified documentation supporting the accommodation requested.
  • Supportive documentation must originate from an appropriate healthcare professional, ADA disability evaluator, testing agency, school, etc. Psychoeducational or physical evaluations must contain specific components which are listed in the Documentation Guidelines/Requirements. All documentation from information sources must be emailed, faxed, or mailed to the NBEO® directly from the source of the records. Evaluations and reports sent in by candidates will not be accepted. Only the Request for Test Accommodation form is submitted by candidates.

Use of ANY medical appliance in ANY exam room requires prior NBEO® pre-approval through successful assignment of an ADA-Eligible or non-ADA-type test accommodation.
